12th october shenanigans

okay so 12th october has its own solo post bcuz it is when i went to jb and omg SO GOOD WTF

okay context: so my uncle is turning 70 soon and my aunt decided to invite us (plus my uncle's side of the family and her children and grandchildren and some of the in-laws and their children (so grandnephew/niece)) and we had to go to jb. this is when i tell u that we left jb in the morning at 7-730 and made it in time...or not because my parents want to scrimp and save the dbs paylah 3 dollar shopback and my dad take damn long to laosai and shower aft breakfast. in the end we left house at 810. 

then we took public transport (cuz its easier to navigate and also its a fking long queue and we didnt want to risk the VEP). in the end because we left house late we only reached woodlands checkpoint at 10.05 cuz the kranji bus queue was terribly long (this 40min delay rly snowballs down the line ngl)

then we had to rush over to the lunch place in jb (and we waited at the wrong pickup point lmao) so we were delayed another 5mins (had to tip the driver out of my conscience and goodwill for not cancelling the trip on a saturday in jb central) so in the end we were late to the lunch place by roughly 25mins. luckily we made it in time for the surprise and we werent later than the birthday man himself LOL would hv been fking embarrassing. 

lunch was so big and feasty omg like there were 8 courses (rm 1699++) and there was an additional dish as well (idk why they ordered for every table cuz we were alr like fking full) and yea just interacted with the closest to my parents (which is like my aunt's children and their spouses and their children ig) i swear my parents are so introverted (and my dad is so stubborn) so i literally dk the malaysia side of these relatives (technically i saw them once at my aunt's son's wedding but i dont think they rmb me lol)

anyways aft that we went to midvalley and omg losing my chagee virginity in jb is another level istg bcos they have white peach oolong milk tea (bussin) and the queue was 80mins (not bussin) but anyways went to buy a uniqlo shirt and saw this like flower shirt design that had very good fabric quality (like thicker than normal fabric and also very comfortable but it was 50 fking sgd) if it werent for the price i'd have alr given my money to it cuz its so fking comfortable (sidenote this is HLA its also avail in sg in orchard area iirc)

also jd sports shoe discounts were actly q nice but bcos i alr have 6 pairs of shoes on rotation (including the crocs) im literally just waiting for one shoe to wear out else i rly overbuying alr. and im waiting for the beyond the vines one cuz i rly like the leather blue or brown shoes (and these are two main colours idh atm)

then anyways for dinner we went to LAZY MONDAY omg i swear the burgers were so chonky and thiccccc YO I LIKE EM THICC (only applicable to burgers). the minced beef patty tasted so fresh its not like solid and clumped tgt like in macs or smth the taste is actually different and the texture crumbles in your mouth when you bite into it and there's this slightly unique aroma too. i think they give slightly too little lettuce but the beef brisket inside was also p decent and the tomatoes were q fat too. also omg the fries are lowkey q near to gyg fries i still like gyg more because the seasoning there really unbeatable afaik but i think lazy monday uses a similar seasoning (chipotle maybe? or something less strong). 

and a few quirks from lazy monday: the staff are rly nice, they have a hairdresser salon at the front, they have staff playing EA FC on breaks (wtf), they have a lot of young guests (like 90% were youths and a lot of them were vaping LMAO), there was this cat that consistently tried to annoy a certain set of ppl (idk what attracted the cat but well hey it wasnt me so kinda sad oof), and they had a live band playing acoustic versions of songs (some i dont recognise but others are kinda decent and familiar xd)

then we went back to sg and omg my phone nearly died and it was so hard to find a grab/gojek in sg even when i tried toggling three phones (i literally had three phones in my hand trying to find one home) but we couldnt find so we just flagged a cap conveniently at amk (also yes last train was only to amk lmao) and it turned out to be more ex than gojek and only slightly cheaper than grab lel

but omg what a day. this is why i said 12th oct needs its own post. LIKE WHAT IS THIS LENGTH CUH
