all we need is a little empathy

i feel like this sem is going to revolve a lot around empathy. in part because my final year project literally has my prof going 'feel alive, and empathise' every week, but also because of circumstances that are revolving around me that make me have to really try to empathise with someone. and i think there are so many different ways to empathise that there isn't a one size fits all solution because it really depends on the context. ideally u want to be a mix of the different areas (kinda like a jack of all trades) but realistically u r better in one area than another (for example, being emotionally connected vs being a good listener). but that's the beauty of character arc story development isn't it? life is just a massive role-playing game where we find different ways to improve and different things to explore. and i think that's what makes life worth living and enjoying! 

monday (19th feb): its funny because this was the first monday that i went to school because both of my monday classes were cancelled on the first week. first one was capstone (final year project) where basically i bidded myself because i was too lazy to find people to bid with after the two people i asked all already had their own groups formed lol so i got tossed into this group with 5 girls who all knew each other and apparently they were missing an operations major (which i am one) so maybe it's all part of the plan? i mean they seem really nice and chill (and i have seen a couple of them around school before) but yeah good vibes and good first impression imo. bidded for this prof that i took another core module under a couple years ago (and i really enjoyed his lessons and final exam because it made me reflect on life. like what kinda prof would ask u to think about ur life and personal relationships with others in the context of a strategic business (and use the concepts to improve or find ways to be better)?) so fun tbh. 

and then night class was me being a teaching assistant for this french prof (so naturally, a lot of wine talk) for this module that i kinda enjoyed (i mean part of it is bcuz i scored beyond my expectations lol) and then i realised why my senior told me he is kinda not worth the TA pay of 590 a month - i have to record all the individual class discussion remarks, and also come up with the practice questions from the textbook (even though my senior already did the slave work for him helps). but anyways yeah pretty chill tbh its just a bit stress bcuz i always have to think about my dinner and how to settle it bcuz the gaps in between the capstone class and the TA class is only 15mins lol. and i think overall learned a lot about empathy today! from different sources :')

tuesday: finally remembered to bring the gifts for elgin and abby to class lol (miffy keychains!) i know i said last week i didn't mind the warehousing module - im regretting that claim this week bcuz im just so locked out now. i feel so locked out of heaven. can't really pinpoint anything spectacular that happened today lol

wednesday: went back to school for softball (omg i really need to get the flow back into throwing the rhythm is just completely gone). had good fun training the basics again (with some innovative training from a certain vice captain). a lot of the year 1's were there (so of course a lot of the new exco too) and omg i swear some of them r SO QUIET wth i actually have to open my mouth to start the convo sighs. ate the economics school nasi lemak for dinner and i swear they downsized the portion (especially the chicken fillet but it was really juicy and so was the fishcake) sighs

thursday: bruh i swear the profs for this sem are just yapping away at things not related to the slides like i appreciate the life stories but at some point they r going too far away from the slide content bruh :( and i was again so locked out of class atp i think i should just pon class and the only reason im not ponning is because there is attendance and i can only skip like 2 times before i get fked? yeah and also its kinda funny that all the groups for this class are named after watches lol. also finally started redownloading the photos from the shared drive from my exchange shared drive (from my floor) onto my laptop lol time to really start creating that montage

friday: so i skipped school for the first time (excluding exchange lol) because meeting with a friend (and going back to have lunch with my ex-colleagues at my ex-intern place) was more important! had ramen for lunch (where the meat was made of chicken instead of pork cuz halal certification and i feel like they didn't r&d the taste properly cuz it tasted and felt a bit weird). found out that literally the only guy who was attached before i left is the only one who is single now LMFAO how the helly does that even happen. then went to have messina (omg i missed that so so much) and went to get pretty good muffins too! then back to school for softball's AGM and it was like the fastest AGM i ever been in like it was barely 10mins LOL then i found out that softball's club ranking dropped from merit to...whatever the tier is below merit lmao gg...so now they r panicking over field booking. tbh even if they remained in merit they wld still be panicking over field booking bcuz sports culture doesn't exist in sg HAHAH but yeah went to buy food back for dinner and then just yapped (and found out that the new vp was in guzheng/chinese orchestra also in secondary school and jc (middle and high school) and yeah kinda coincidental! gonna drag her to orchestra prac when the time comes HAHAH) 

saturday: only free day. was gonna be like okay im gonna vlog my haul from netherlands and europe but in the end i spent the entire day watching tennis lol im actually addicted to sports. nothing biggie today but had bak kut teh for the FIRST TIME this year BIG MISS AND BIG YAY omg love it

sunday: back to baseball! omg and i finally got bat on ball (and got an rbi) though i should really work on my throws a bit more hahaha. and then omg man utd won two matches in a row? against the top two sides in the league??? im saying man we are gonna win the league this year but anyways yeah kinda chill weekend nothing biggie tbh
